The Civil Society State of the Union (CSSOTEU) report 2025 sets civil society’s main policy priorities for the EU in 2026. Drafted by over 35 civil society organisations and coordinated by Civil Society Europe, it builds upon the process started with the Conference on the Future of Europe and the Civil Society Convention on the Future of Europe. The first edition of the CSSOTEU report was in 2023: the 2025 version that will be presented builds upon the previous edition, and proposes concrete policy measures that should be at the heart of EU’s policymaking agenda for the year to come.
This launch event, hosted by the European Parliament Vice-Presidents responsible for relations with European civil society organisations, Katarina Barley and Nicolae Ştefănuţă, will bring together policymakers and civil society organisations to discuss the key civil society proposals for the EU’s policy agenda of 2026. Democracy and fundamental rights, migration and mobility, social EU, climate transition, digital transformation and human centred security will be at the heart of this high level event. You can find attached the draft agenda of the event.
To attend, you can register here. Deadline for registration: 30th June, end of day.
This event has now concluded. Taking place in the Presidential Salon, it brought together key figures from civil society, while the panel discussion brought together MEPs Katarina Barley (S&D), Nicolae Ștefănuță (Greens/EFA), Abir Al-Sahlani (Renew), Marc Angel (S&D), and Miron Podgorean, Member of Cabinet to Commissioner Roxana Mînzatu. Participants, many of whom were from civil society, exchanged passionately with the panel, who brought their institutional knowledge and perspective.
We thank all those who participated and contributed to a successful launch.
