On the 3rd of February at 17:00 , Civil Society Europe will be launching the Civil Society Convention on the future of Europe. The online event will be co-hosted by Domènec Ruiz Devesa (S&D, Spain), and Mr Sandro Gozi (Renew Europe, France/Italy) members of the Constitutional Affairs Committee of the European Parliament with the participation of Gwendoline Delbos-Corfield, Vice Chair of the Green/EFA Group (France) at the European Parliament and Mattia de’ Grassi, Advisor to the Vice President of the European Commission Dubravka Šuica in charge of the Conference on the Future of Europe.
This Convention is composed and open to all European (network) organisations that are “working towards regenerating the European project around the shared values of Equality, Solidarity, Inclusiveness and Democracy”, recognise themselves in this Joint declaration and agree to reclaim a space for civil society organisations in the Conference on the Future of Europe to join the Convention.
The aim of the Civil Society Convention is to create a link between civil society organisations and the institutional setting of the Conference, in order to ensure an ambitious, structured and looking forward agenda of the Conference on the Future of Europe, and that citizens’ proposals and concerns will be taken into account in the agenda setting, discussions and be followed up with the most adequate and concrete policy, legislative and if relevant treaty change solutions.
